Sabri Lamouchi broke the deadlock after 13 minutes with a low drive from just inside the box, although the Como defence perhaps could have done more to clear.

Como refused to give in and Fabio Pecchia brought a fine save out of Sebastien Frey with a powerful low drive. Soon after Sasa Bjelanovic also saw his effort parried and Carbone fired the follow-up over the bar.
Parma could have extended their lead further when in te final minutes Marco Marchionni thumped the crossbar.
