Torino - Bologna

30th day ~ Torino - Bologna : 1-1

The fourth and final Champions' League spot is up for grabs as Bologna were held at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

Bologna had the best early opportunities to score as Luca Bucci and the defence scrambled to clear fom Julio Cruz and Beppe Signori.

However, it was the Granata who broke the deadlock with a splendid free kick. Alessio Scarchilli curled the ball round the defensive wall, completely wrongfooting the goalkeeper.

Soon after the goal Cristiano Lucarelli was forced to limp off with a muscular problem. The Rossoblu continued to pour forward and Bucci again proved decisive on Cruz, Signori and Matteo Brighi from close range.

Torino remained particularly dangerous on the counter-attack with Jose Franco - named man of the match - a constant thorn in the side of the Bologna defence.

Cruz eventually snatched the equaliser at the dawn of the second half in a rather fortunate finish as Delli Carri failed to effectively mark the giant striker on a set-piece.

Torino held on during the next wave of Bologna attacks and slowly began to take control. Gianluca Pagliuca was forced into a desperate save to tip youngster Quagliarella's header over the bar.

It proved to be the last real scare for either side as the two teams sat back on their precious point.
